Mayor Joseph Schember and Erie Police Department Chief Inspector Chris Janus introduced their new partnership with the tip411 tool to the public in a recent news conference.
“tip411 is a simple easy resource for our residents to fight crime and in some cases stop it before it happens,” Schember states.
“tip411 can be an enforcement tool as well as a prevention tool.”
The public can communicate anonymously with Erie PD (173 sworn officers) in multiple ways: submit through the free tip411 tool or text 847411 directly.
There are plans for Erie PD to expand its use of the tip411 tool by sending out community alerts or live updates in the near future.
“tip411 is a simple easy resource for our residents to fight crime and in some cases stop it before it happens,” Schember states.
“tip411 can be an enforcement too as well as a prevention tool.”
The public can submit anonymous tips to the Bangor PD by texting “ERIEPD” and the tip information to 847411. The public can also use the ERIEPD Tip mobile app, powered by tip411, to view community alerts and submit anonymous tips. The ERIEPD Tip app can be downloaded for free at the iTunes and Google Play App Store.
