UPDATE: Stamford Police Department Turns to tip411 for Help in Solving Suspicious Death

Recently, Stamford Police Department (300 sworn officers) asked the community to help provide any information on the suspicious death of a 20-year-old man through their anonymous tip tool run by tip411.

Based on information gathered from an investigation, Stamford PD has arrested a 25-year-old man and a 17-year-old man on assault in the first-degree charges. 

Stamford PD is waiting on the office of the chief medical examiner to determine the cause of death with the expectation that additional charges will be filed.

Citizens can submit an anonymous text tip to the Stamford Police Department via their cell phone by texting the keyword “STAMFORDPD” and their message/tip to 847411.

“We believe empowering the community to submit anonymous tips with our new Waukegan PD app will be a good tool to keep our community safe,” he said.

The Waukegan Police Department mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “WPDTIP” and their message/tip to 847411.

Authorities are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man who was found in a Stamford pathway and are asking for the public’s help through tip411. 

Capt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Police (300 sworn officers) said they received a report of a man lying on his back in the area. After finding the body, they were able to identify the individual and are notifying next of kin.

“At this time, the Department considers this death as suspicious and is awaiting further findings by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner,” Scanlon said.

Alaska State TroopersAlaska State Troopers ( 350 sworn officers) recently sent an alert to their community via the tip411 platform. They requested help locating a violent felony suspect, 38-year-old Wasilla resident Dustin Peters, and warned that he was armed and dangerous.

The suspect had an active warrant for his arrest and was a suspect in an additional violent crime that recently occurred in Wasilla.

tip411 Tip Leads to Arrest of Two Men on Gun Charges in Wilmington

Wilmington, NC Police Department (228 sworn officers) charged two adults with gun charges thanks to a citizen who utilized their tip411 anonymous tip application. They provided information on two men walking around in broad daylight while wearing ski masks.

Wilmington PD followed up on the lead, which led to stopping and searching 19-year-old Sencere Ortiz and 21-year-old Dorian McNeil.

The police officers also searched the surrounding area and found two handguns and drug paraphernalia, which led to charges on the two individuals. 

wilmington pd arrestOrtiz was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $5,000 secured bond.

McNeil was charged with felony carrying a concealed weapon and received a $10,000 secured bond.
