Elyria Police Launch tip411 Public Safety Mobile App

The Elyria, OH Police Department is increasing its crime-fighting arsenal with the TipElyria mobile app, developer by tip411, to help residents connect with the department to find information, view alerts and submit anonymous tips from their smartphone.

“The city of Elyria Police Department’s mission is to provide professional police services for the city in partnership with the community,” said Elyria PD Chief Bill Pelko. “In Elyria, we believe we can do more by working together, and our new tip411 system will help make it easier for our community to partner with us to make Elyria a safer place to live, work and visit.”

The app enables the public to share an anonymous tip with police and lets officers respond to create an anonymous two-way conversation. The TipElyria app is available for download for free via the Google Play Store and the iPhone App Store.

Citizens can also submit a tip to the Elyria PD by texting the keyword TIPELYRIA and sending their message/tip to 847411.

Danbury Police Debut New Anonymous Tip Service From tip411

The Danbury, CT Police Department recently launched a new tool, developed by tip411, that enables the public to submit anonymous tips to police and lets officers respond to create an anonymous two-way conversation.

Anyone with a cell phone may send an anonymous tip to the Danbury Police Department by texting DANBURYPD and their message/tip to 847411.

The system is 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before officers receive it and there is no way to identify the sender.

The Danbury PD tip411 mobile app is available for free via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Baldwin Borough, PA Police Launch tip411 Mobile App to Fight Crime

The Baldwin Borough, PA Police Department recently announced a partnership with tip411, who helped develop the Baldwin Borough PD mobile app. The app allows residents to send anonymous tips directly to police officers and allows the agency to send important alerts to residents who subscribe, such as active crime scenes and weather/ traffic related incidents.

Raquelle Reinheime, who owns Xtend Studio in Baldwin, likes the idea of tip411.

“If I’m driving, I might witness someone swerving down the road and that kind of scares me a little bit,” said Reinheimer. “It could be a drunk driver. It could not be. It could be someone falling asleep at the wheel. Like I said I get nervous sometimes to call the police, but like I said if I could send a quick text, not while driving, to let them know hey I think someone ahead of me might need assistance before they cause an accident. I think that could definitely help.”

Citizens can share information with Baldwin Borough PD by by texting the keyword BALDWIN and sending their message/tip to 847411. The Baldwin Borough PD mobile app is available for free via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The Mount Lebanon, PA Police Department began using the tip411 service several years ago. The agency says it’s been very successful. Point Park University launched its tip411 service in 2017.

East Providence Police Launch tip411 Public Safety Mobile App

The East Providence, RI Police Department launched a new way to help residents stay safe in the event of crimes. Police worked with tip411 to develop the East Providence PD mobile app that allows residents to submit anonymous tips to officers, find information and view alerts.
 
“Our goal is to make it easy for the people of East Providence to communicate with our department, and, by working together, continue to make East Providence an exceptional place to live, work and visit,” Police Chief Christopher Francesconi said. “With our new mobile app, we have added another way for the community to access our department so that we may respond to any concerns and continue to keep our community safe.”

Citizens can share information with East Providence PD by by texting the keyword EPPOLICE and sending their message/tip to 847411. The East Providence PD app is available for free via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
 
Funding for the project came from the East Bay Regional Coalition, East Providence Prevention Coalition, and the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals.

Peoria, IL Police New Cold Case Campaign Uses tip411

The Peoria Police Department has teamed up with the “Who Killed Me” campaign to raise awareness about unsolved murders in their community. They are asking citizens to use their tip411 anonymous tip program to report any information regarding these cases.

Peoria PD and Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood wanted the community to know that they were still searching for suspects in the crimes, but they want the community’s help.

“I’ve talked to people who have said does anybody care, especially with cases that are older,” Hardwood said. “I think the importance of this initiative is to keep it in the forefront in the public’s mind that yes, these names are not just names. The police department has never quit working on cases.”

To submit an anonymous tip to the Peoria Police Department, text PEORIAPD and your tip to 847411. Citizens can also submit tips using the Peoria PD mobile app, available for free on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
