tip411 Tips Lead to Gun Arrest in Atlantic City, NJ

The Atlantic City Police Department (277 sworn officers) in New Jersey sees success with anonymous tips through the tip411 tool. 

A concerned citizen provided anonymous information through the tip411 tool to Detective Christopher Dodson regarding a male who possessed a handgun. 

Officers then acted on this information and found the tip to be credible after the suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and was immediately taken into custody.

The suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.

Ohio’s Attorney General’s Office Launches tip411 to Counter Human Trafficking


To counter human trafficking, Ohio’s Attorney General’s Office has partnered with tip411 as a new way to report crime to the states Human Trafficking Hotline. 

A text line, phone application, and web form will join the phone line launched in October as ways to directly alert teams at the Ohio Bureau of Investigations of potential human trafficking operations.

Ohio’s BCI will then bring in local and federal agencies to address reports.

Attorney General David Yost urged people to take advantage of the additional hotline options to help expose as much as possible.

“These expanded reporting options help shine a brighter light on traffickers and steer victims toward what we call the ‘Highway to Hope,” Yost said. “We urge all Ohioans to join us in this important fight — everyone can play a role to end human trafficking.”
