Akron Police Launch New Anonymous Tip App Developed by tip411

The new Akron PD app, developed by tip411, is being used by the Akron, OH Police Department in an effort to help residents connect with the department to find information, view alerts and submit anonymous tips.

“Our mission is to serve the community of Akron in a collaborative effort to enhance the quality of life through crime prevention, enforcement of laws, promotion of safety, and reduction of fear,” said Akron Police Chief Stephen L. Mylett. “We believe our new Akron PD app from tip411 will help us do just that by making it easier for our community to connect with us to make Akron a safer place for all to live, work, and visit.”

The app enables the public to share an anonymous tip with police, as well as allows officers to respond back, creating an anonymous two-way conversation.

The Akron PD app and the tip411 system are 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before police see the tips. The is no way to identify the sender.

Akron residents can submit a tip via text message by texting the keyword AKRONPD and then their tip and sending it to 847411. Residents can also download the free Akron PD mobile app on the iPhone App Store or the Google Play Store.

Anonymous Tips From Citizens Help Coatesville Police Department Make Drug Arrests

Thanks to numerous anonymous tips submitted to the City of Coatesville Police, the agency was able to make multiple drug arrests recently in a narcotics trafficking case.

The Coatesville Detectives Narcotics unit opened an investigation into the trafficking of narcotics out of a Coatesville residence after an abundance of tips were received from the agency’s tip411 service. The investigation yielded enough evidence for detectives to obtain a search warrant for the home.

The Coatesville Police Department served the search warrant on the home. During the search, heroin, crack cocaine and other paraphernalia were collected and two suspects were subsequently arrested.

On their Facebook page, the agency thanked the numerous community members for their role for their tips and encouraged citizens to download the free Coatesville PD mobile app.

New Bern, NC Police Launch Anonymous Tip Services Powered by tip411

The New Bern, NC Police Department is now allowing smartphone users the ability to share anonymous tips with law enforcement.

The service, powered by tip411, enables the public to send text messages and open a dialog with a police officer in real time.

“This capability will make it even easier to connect with the police department and help maintain New Bern as a safe place to live, work, and visit,” said Chief Patrick Gallagher. “Everyone has a smartphone these days and texting has become the go-to for communicating with friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, businesses, and organizations. It’s important that we continue to implement new technologies that allow people to communicate with us and partner with us to help keep our community safe.”

The tip411 system is 100% anonymous. The platform removes all identifying information before officers receive it and there is no way to identify the sender.

To report a tip, text NBPDTIP along with your message to 847411. The program can be used to report public safety information, suspicious activity, etc. and users can also attach photos and videos to their texts.

Clovis Police Anonymous Tips

Anonymous tips from tip411 help Clovis, NM Police Department make arrest in shooting case

Anonymous tips submitted via the Clovis, NM Police Department’s tip411 mobile app helped the agency identify a suspect in a recent shooting case, according to the agency command staff.

Captain Roman Romero wants citizens to get involved and report what they know about crimes in their neighborhood. Romero encourages citizens to download the Clovis PD mobile app, developed by tip411, if they want to submit anonymous tips to the agency.

“We will always need the public’s help,” Romero said. “Help us help you. Clovis will become what you want it to become.”

Chief Roy Rice said the police department has a plan and is tackling the violence that has increased this year.

“We formed a unit,” Rice said. “We’ve plotted out what night is most likely to have shots fired incidents. One member of our task force watches entries on social media.”

Rice said officers will soon be going into schools and meeting with students.

“We are doing whatever we can,” Rice said. “We have units rolling. We have manpower in the street.”
