DeKalb County, GA PD Executes Major Narcotics Seizure Thanks to tip411

The DeKalb County, GA Police Department (860 sworn officers) received an anonymous tip through tip411, which resulted in five arrests, the recovery of illegal firearms, and the seizure of a dangerous cocktail of narcotics, including ecstasy, prescription pills, and marijuana.

tip411 is a web-based toolset that allows the public to share anonymous tips directly with police while remaining 100% anonymous.

    How it works:

    • Total Anonymity: When you send a tip via the app or text, the software scrubs all identifying information. The police see the message, but they never see the tipster’s name, phone number, or location.

    • Two-Way Conversation: Unlike a standard hotline, tip411 allows officers to respond to tips in real-time. They can ask follow-up questions or request more details—including photos or videos.

    • Ease of Use: Community members can report tips it in seconds.

“This is community policing at its best,” the department noted following the arrests.

The DeKalb County Police Department mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “DKPD” and their message/tip to 847411.
