The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (135 sworn officers) in Maryland has upgraded its community engagement platform, switching from Nixle to tip411.
This move enables the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s office to leverage tip411’s unique two-way anonymous communication tool, significantly enhancing the safety and dialogue between law enforcement and the residents they serve.
“We know the public is one of our greatest law enforcement resources. Together, we can make St. Mary’s County an even safer place to live, work, and visit,” said Sheriff Steve Hall. “tip411 allows us to share verified, timely alerts while giving residents a safe and secure way to help prevent and solve crime.”
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to transparency, collaboration, and innovation. The launch of tip411 represents the next step in providing trusted, direct communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
tip411 has been proven to reduce crime, improve community engagement, provide quality tips, and close cases.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “SMCSO” and their message/tip to 847411.
