The Dalles, OR Police Department received a critical tip sent through their tip411 tool, leading to a successful search warrant and the dismantling of a large-scale gun and narcotics distribution operation by the Mid-Columbia Interagency Narcotics task force (MINT) and the Northern Oregon Regional Tactical Response Team (NORTAC) in The Dalles.
The anonymous tips detailed the possession and sale of firearms and narcotics from a local residence.
According to The Dalles Police Department Captain Jamie Carrico, “tip411 is a great tool and asset that assisted in getting dangerous people off the streets and a child to a safe and clean environment.”
tip411 provides a simple and confidential way for community members to send crime-related tips directly, enhancing neighborhood safety, completely anonymously.
The information presented through tip411 tool provied the necessary grounds for law enforcement to act and MINT and the Northern Oregon Regional Tactical Response Team (NORTAC) executed a search warrant that resulted in a massive seizure:
- Over 50 pounds of methamphetamine
- Over 50 pounds of marijuana
- Several firearms and suppressors (silencers)
The suspects are now facing serious charges, including Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Delivery of Methamphetamine, and Child Neglect in the First Degree.
This case underscores how invaluable and essential tip411 can be to a community by directly assisting in removing dangerous people and illegal drugs off the streets, getting a child out of a dangerous environment and into a safe, clean one.
