Emporia Virginia Police Department (32 sworn officers) have partnered with tip411 to connect residents with their department at a deeper level.
With tip411 citizens can use the tool to find information, view alerts, and submit anonymous tips directly from their phone.
“Our philosophy is to be involved in our community by developing and participating in programs that enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Emporia,” said Chief Troy Hawkins. “I believe our new tip411 system will empower our department and our residents to work even more closely together.”
The tool enables the public to share anonymous tips directly with police creating a two-way conversation.
“We’re continuously working to build more advanced and innovative products to help departments better engage their communities,” said tip411 President Terry Halsch. “The Emporia PD app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve the public’s access to agency alerts, social media channels, important information and more to help fight crime.”
The Emporia Police Department mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “EMPORIAPD” and their message/tip to 847411.
