The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia (70 sworn officers), collaborates with the tip411 tool to effectively enhance community safety and security.
The tip411 tool enables community members to anonymously submit tips, through multiple channels, regarding suspicious activity or possible crimes.
“This is a great tool for the citizens who are uncomfortable reporting criminal activity,” Sheriff Blake Andis said in the release. “Now, they can do so anonymously, helping keep our community safe.”
The tips are 100% anonymous while facilitating two-way communications between the tipster and an officer who can respond directly to the tip in real time.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “WCSOVA” and their message/tip to 847411.
