This tool from tip411 allows the community to find information on incidents APD is currently asking for help with, and to receive alerts about crime activity in their city.
“We don’t want any barriers. We want to remove all the barriers for people to communicate with us. It could just be a piece of information they want to share with us or it could be information about something they saw,” said Lt. Robin Roeser
Through this new application, which can be found on the Apple Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android, the public can now reach police by downloading the “NORWALKPD” app and submitting the information there, or by using their cellphone to text “NORWALKPD” and the information to TIP411.
The new SafeTampa app enables the public to share anonymous tips about suspicious activity, human trafficking, drug use/abuse, domestic violence, and more for the Super Bowl and beyond.
Thanks to tipsters providing information back to the department using the anonymous tip portion of their tip411 system, police were able to identify both individuals and receive signed warrants for them within a week.
