tip411 Part of Push for More School Safety Measures in McKinney, Texas

McKinney ISD Superintendent Rick McDaniel and McKinney Mayor George Fuller held a town hall meeting with the public Wednesday night to discuss concerns and suggestions related to the safety and security of children at MSID.

“We got a lot of what we hoped for,” Fuller said, referring to personal observations from those outside the district as well.

Much of the discussion focused on what safety measures the district currently has in place, including the number of new security cameras across the district.

MISD also has Crisis Counselors dedicated to bullying on campuses and a Tip 411 line, which allows students to anonymously report if they hear rumors or concerns about safety and security.

tip411 Helps Prevent Bank Robbery, Recover Assault Rifle & Ammunition

At about 8:20pm on 01/31/2018, Wylie, Texas Police received several anonymous tips via tip411 about someone who was planning to rob a bank in Wylie.

The anonymous tipster provided identifying information and enough credibility that police immediately began working the tip.  Wylie Police were able to put information out to local banks in the area and developed a plan to have officers stationed at every bank in town until they could verify the validity of the information.

“This made our banking community feel safe, but also developed a higher level of trust of our organization,” said Wylie Police Lieutenant TJ Walters.

Within 24 hours of the tip, Wylie Police were able to take a male suspect into custody.  They also recovered an AR-15 with multiple 30 round magazines, a pellet gun that looked like a real gun, ammunition, and body armor.  The tip included information that these were the tools the suspect would use to follow through on his plan.

“We have had a couple of other success stories, but this one was certainly worth the share,” said Lieutenant Walters.

Tip nets 2 drug suspects in Central El Paso traffic stop

El Paso County sheriff’s investigators arrested two men on drug charges Tuesday in Central El Paso following an anonymous tip, officials said.

Jovan Ramos and Roberto Daniel Saavedra were arrested on drug possession charges during a traffic stop at Arizona Avenue and Noble Street, sheriff’s officials said.

During a search of a vehicle, investigators found a pound of hydroponic marijuana, 21 grams of cocaine and a gram of the prescription drug Adderall, officials said.

Lewisville Police Announce Change to New Crime Map Featuring tip411

Effective Tuesday, November 1, 2016, the Lewisville Police Department is changing its public crime mapping service from Motorola’s CrimeReport to LexisNexis® Community Crime Map (formerly known as RaidsOnline by Bair Analytics).

Community Crime Map offers citizen’s greater functionality.  The map links to the Tip411 anonymous crime tip service, allowing citizens to make a tip directly from the map.  Citizens may also sign up for a periodic report of incidents occurring around a defined address.

Text-a-Tip Handy Post Holiday Weekend

While you’re out celebrating Fourth of July, it’s always good to keep in mind that the Laredo Police Department is not just available for emergencies, but also available in case you’d like to report non-emergency criminal activity anonymously.

The Laredo Police Department’s text-a-tip program allows for the people of Laredo to chime in with tips related to criminal activity.

Well 911 is the option for emergencies, but with people celebrating for the holiday, the text-a-tip program could come in handy if non-emergency situations develop in the wake of fourth of July celebrations.

The Fourth of July allows for people to celebrate their independence, but if someone decides to use that independence to take part in criminal action here in the gateway city The Laredo Police Department would like to know about it.

Laredo’s 411 text-a-tip program provides the community an avenue for providing information related to non-emergency criminal wrong-doing.

“It’s a very specialized module for people to utilize so they can give us their information completely anonymous and so they could be free of any fear of being identified and they can give us any information they want”, said Joe Baeza.
